The Birmingham office held a bake sale fundraiser for HAVEN on Thursday, October 20th. The money raised will go to benefit the HAVEN of Pontiac, which provides comprehensive treatment and prevention services to over 4500 women, men and children. I made and contributed a pound cake and pumpkin pie!
What a great feeling it is to pack boxes and boxes of food for so many people less fortunate. Our mission on this day was to pack each box with 30 pounds of canned goods and dry goods, ideally to put together several meals. During our session, I was told our group packed more than 2,000 pounds of food. Again, what a great feeling!
Over the weekend I volunteered at a MobilPack for Feed My Starving Children. I worked in a team to hand-pack rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags which we then sealed, boxed, placed on pallets to be shipped around the world. On my shift we packed 30,672 meals which will feed 84 children for a year.
The Birmingham RAP Squad held an old-fashioned lemonade stand on August 30th and 31st and raised approximately $1,320 which was matched by generous sponsors!! It was a fun event and it feels good to be part of such a great cause. I participated on August 30th. The volunteers were: Lauralyn Bell-Guzzo, Kristie Drogosch, Carol Ayres, Pam […]
I organized and worked with four teams of Clark Hill attorneys and staff selling lemonade in front of Clark Hill’s entrance on Old Woodward Avenue in downtown Birmingham. Thank you to the volunteers – Kristie Drogosch, Carol Ayres, Pam Fantazian, Terri Shoop, Mariah Mumford, Linda McCauley, Catherine Parker and Geri DiCicco for doing such a wonderful job at squeezing all that cash out of people just walking down the street. I also want to thank Lonnie and Todd from Office Services for helping with the set-up and teardown. Not only did we have a lot of fun doing it, astonishingly, we raised over $1,320. In the picture above, we are presenting a cashier’s check to a Gleaners representative.
I helped make Birmingham’s Lemonade Stand for Gleaners a Success! We ran the lemonade stand over two days and raised $1,297.65 for Gleaners. That comes out to over 5,000 meals for hungry children.
The Birmingham Office RAP Squad organized a lemonade stand to benefit Gleaners Food Bank. I volunteered to help and together we raised $440!
Did you know that only $1 can feed six hungry children? The Birmingham Office RAP Squad organized a lemonade stand to benefit Gleaners Food Bank on August 30-31. Pam Fantazian and I worked the stand together on August 30 and raised $440. Thank you to the RAP Squad and especially Lauralyn Bell-Guzzo for organizing this terrific event.
Thankful for the opportunity to help fill The Bottomless Toy Chest. This will help distract children in hospitals with something positive during their difficult times.
