Ithan Elementary Martin Luther King Day-of-Service Program

On Martin Luther King Day Christopher, Matthew and Olivia Brubaker participated in the day of service program at Mathew and Olivia’s school, Ithan Elementary School (IES).

Projects at IES included decorating door hangers for nursing home residents at Rosemont Presbyterian Village; making “birthday boxes” for The Confetti Project for Laurel House; decorating socks for patients at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP); assembling “new home” kits for Pathways to Housing; making lunch for 300 individuals and decorating bags with messages of hope for The Life Center; making hot chocolate cones for AID for Friends; and more.
This year’s event at IES also featured a bake sale, basket raffle and face painting to support Radnor A Better Chance and Philabundance and educational stations for students about the significance of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the importance of giving back.

Donations were also collected for Philadelphia ReadsCradles to Crayons; The Confetti Project for Laurel House; Pathways to Housing; Starfinder Foundation; Thomas G. Morton School in Philadelphia; The Life Center and  Philabundance.
